Hi there, I’m Jamie! My name is Jamie Daniel-Farrell and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing telehealth in the state of California. I work with adults and couples and specialize in anxiety, couples therapy, infidelity, and divorce recovery using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Narrative Therapy, and Relational Life Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better.
My approach
My approach to therapy includes a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Psychology, Narrative, and Relational Life Therapy to help me and the client build a shared understanding of their reality, and allow us to work together to accomplish their goals.
My focus
I've discovered that my style and approach are a good fit for adults and couples who may be dealing with the challenges of low self-esteem, anxiety, life transitions, loss of trust, and problems in their interpersonal relationships. I work to help my clients build self-confidence, make stress and worry feel more manageable, heal from loss, and learn healthy relational skills to have happier relationships.
My communication style
My communication style is warm and approachable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.
My journey to mental healthcare
I first decided I wanted to become a therapist when I was in 8th grade because I enjoyed being a trusted friend and helping others. I was naturally drawn to helping people through difficult times and it became a career approximately 12 years ago. It is a privilege to be part of your journey. Watching my clients grow and transform is such an honor.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients is working to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. This starts by building trust between us, and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we’ll work together to set goals and track your progress.
My first session with you
What you can expect from our first session together is for us to spend the majority of our time talking about how you’ve been feeling recently, and me asking questions to better understand some of why you may be feeling that way. The first session is about us building an initial connection and helping me get a sense of where we should go from there. Each individual or couple is different, and I like to listen first before assuming I know what will work best for you moving forward.
