Hi, I'm Jessica Brohmer, LMFT. I help head-centered people reconnect with their embodied emotions using somatic therapy methods.
My approach
Somatic therapy focuses on body feelings, movement, music, and other forms of mind-body connection to help you resolve stuck emotions. As you connect with your body, we can get down to the roots of your mental health symptoms and explore what you need holistically.
My focus
I work well with head-centered people who turn to thinking through their problems and emotions instead of feeling them. I also work with people who are more emotional or body centered who need help stepping back and letting their head take a turn.
My communication style
In sessions, we'll get experimental. Everyone is different, and therapy needs to reflect your uniqueness. We'll try different ways of connecting your mind and body so we can access deep healing. But since we're trying different things to see what works best for you, it's really important that you do your part- each session you'll leave with one key thing to try during your week.
My journey to mental healthcare
I became a therapist because I believe in healing our natural capacity to connect and thrive together in the community. Therapy is an intentional attachment relationship designed to foster that healing and help you overcome any blocks to thriving.
My goals for you
We'll set goals collaboratively and revisit them often to make sure you're making progress and getting what you need out of therapy.
My first session with you
Our first session might be a bit boring. We have some documents that we have to get through, but they'll help me get a good picture of what's going on for you and get us started on making some initial goals.
