Greetings. I’m a licensed Clinical Psychologist and Hollywood screenwriter, who has spent 20 years exploring people’s stories… their hopes, dreams, failures, successes. I work with adults going through *mild to moderate* stressors - situational life events including breakups, burnout, loss of a pet or loved one, rejection, eating management, performing under pressure, and more.
My approach
Short-term, high-impact. Combining behavioral and narrative therapy, sessions are interactive, focusing on insights and immediately usable skills. Real-world activities are suggested between sessions. My goal for my clients? Self-empowerment.
My focus
I’ve found my therapeutic approach is an especially good fit for highly motivated individuals, creative types - artists, actors, writers, directors, musicians, dancers, entrepreneurs - facing his/her/their unique set of professional challenges.
My communication style
Communication style: Supportive. Kind. Direct. Emotional atmosphere: safe.
My journey to mental healthcare
Having a dual career as a psychologist and screenwriter is not as strange as it may seem. Both professions deal with character development, progressive complications, crisis, and resolution. Understanding how a story unfolds, whether on the screen or in real life, is foundational. And both strive for happy endings.
My goals for you
Realistic, mutually agreed-upon goals are an important part of therapy. It gives us a way to measure progress and outcome(s).
My first session with you
The bond between therapist and client is critical. And it starts the moment we meet. I want you to feel comfortable with my listening, without judgment, the journey that brought you to me. And you will be encouraged to ask questions of me. Together, we will build a course of positive action. Although every client is different, my assumptions about the therapeutic process are the same: “There is help, there is hope… things can be better.”
