Hi, I am Candyce Spruel, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). I have been counseling for over 20 years. I am a client-centered humanistic therapist. I approach every situation with a non-judgmental and empathetic view.
My approach
Whatever works best for the client. My theoretical approach is based on psychodynamic theory and my application is cognitive behavioral therapies (DBT and ACT). I use a combination of modalities to address clients' needs.
My focus
I am client-focused and I meet my clients where they are. I work with clients who have symptoms of anxiety, depression, and psychosis. Many of my clients are survivors of childhood trauma.
My communication style
My communication style is open, honest, and candid. I believe you can heal and grow through laughter. I have been told that I use recovery language.
My journey to mental healthcare
It is "My calling"; I believe I was born to, designed to help, aid, and serve my fellow man. I have spent over twenty years in Human Resources, Teaching, Coaching, and Career Development to land in mental health. My goal is to help facilitate that each person is living their best life.
My goals for you
Goal setting is a collaborative effort, as long as there are no legal or ethical issues that must be addressed.
My first session with you
A warm greeting and empathetic listener who will meet them where they are. I am genuine and authentic; I will treat them and their issues with dignity and respect.
