Hi, I am Paul. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been in practice for over 30 years and have worked in a wide variety of settings. As I work with clients with anxiety, depression, and stress, we focus on using your strengths and unique qualities to overcome emotional roadblocks and get you where you want to be.
My approach
Over my career, I have developed a combination of Client-Centered and Cognitive Behavioral therapy along with a healthy dose of humor to help people deal with a variety of emotional issues.
My focus
My clients are usually people who are wrestling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, or recent loss.
My communication style
I use a very positive approach. Therapy doesn't always need to be painful. Levity provides perspective. Perspective provides a new way of looking at things. I've found that people almost always have the skills they need to make the changes they want to make. People most often just need the support and perspective of a caring and attentive therapist.
My journey to mental healthcare
Therapy can be life-changing. I am humbled by the role I have played in helping my clients achieve their goals, find their path, gain mastery over their internal world, mend relationships, and more. I cannot imagine a more satisfying way of making an impact in the world.
My goals for you
Setting measurable and attainable goals is key to successful therapy. The goals are set by the client through the relationship we develop. Together we clarify and express actionable objectives and monitor our progress toward them.
My first session with you
Our first session is focused on learning about you and what prompted you to therapy. It is a relaxed, unhurried time with the primary goal of clarifying your needs and expectations and how I might be able to help.
