Hello, I'm Brenda! I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I will also genuinely provide support and hope, especially when your life seems to be more than you can handle.
My approach
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and rational-emotive counseling. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
My focus
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I also work with the military population to address PTSD, Military Culture, and treating Mental Illnesses.
My communication style
My approach is warm, interactive, respectful and professional. Working with me, you will feel you have a place to be vulnerable and share your journey.
My journey to mental healthcare
Having served in the military (USMC), I have spent my life using my own personal and career experiences to help individuals overcome challenges and stressors. I love working with people from different backgrounds and learning about their own journeys. At times, we feel lost in our own world, and we just need help from someone who truly cares to offer a new perspective. Having served in the Marine Corps has led me to the field of counseling. Because of my passion for counseling, I continue to educate myself on emerging therapies and psychological trends to provide the most comprehensive program that works for each of my client's individual needs.
My goals for you
I work along with my clients to explore and set realistic goals and how to achieve them.
My first session with you
During our first session, my clients can expect a warm, welcoming introduction. I will ask them information about themselves, and we will talk, explore what brings them to therapy and how we move forward.
