I'm Frank Russell, California state licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT 5698). I work with individuals, couples, and families.
My approach
My training and experience have emphasized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also have extensive experience with substance abuse treatment and motivational interviewing.
My focus
I specialize in assisting people to achieve their own goals. These goals often include changing their behavior and their emotional responses to stressors.
My communication style
I usually start therapy by listening and connecting. I encourage clients to express and prioritize their goals. I then employ appropriate methods to assist them to achieve their goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
After initially majoring in the physical sciences, I discovered my interest and affinity for understanding behavior and promoting emotional well-being during my first psychology course and my first experience as a therapy client.
My goals for you
I listen, reflect, and assist clients to express their concerns in ways that can lead to desired changes in behavior, relationships, and mood.
My first session with you
During the first session, clients will have the opportunity to receive answers to their questions, to learn about the therapy process, and to express the concerns that led them to therapy.
