Hi, my name is Alexa Levine and I am so glad you're here. I am a mom of two, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and passionate about working with women who are pregnant, recently postpartum, or mothers of young children.
My approach
I utilize Cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy to maximize the benefits of therapy and customize treatment for each individual client.
My focus
I know firsthand and professionally how beneficial therapy can be in helping uncover the root causes of unwanted feelings and actions, as well as building helpful and practical coping skills that can be life-changing in managing challenges and the stress and pressure of motherhood. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Master's Degree in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. I have over 8 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in a clinical setting. After completing my 3,000 clinical hours and state licensing exam I became licensed in 2017. Since then I have worked with several different client populations and have found my absolute passion in working with the perinatal population (including pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.)
My communication style
I believe my biggest strengths are my ability to build rapport with clients quickly and gain trust. I am approachable, empathetic and value the client/therapist relationship.
My goals for you
I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Person Centered Therapy to ensure each session is meaningful, helpful and supportive. I encourage you to reach out to me when you are ready to create meaningful changes in your life. I also understand that investing in yourself will also have a positive impact on those closest to you, including family, friends and coworkers. Congratulations on taking the first step, and welcome!
