My name is Regina Fagout and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Diego, California working with clients statewide via telehealth. My therapeutic style is conversational, open, intuitive, and with a dash of humor.
My approach
My work is supported by evidence-based interventions such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to name a few. In addition, I love to incorporate mindfulness practices such as breathing and relaxation techniques into my sessions.
My focus
I enjoy supporting adults challenged by a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, anger management, domestic violence, sexual abuse, religious abuse, women's issues, racism/racial identity, and LGBT issues.
My communication style
My communication style is conversational and easy for you to open up; it feels like you are talking to another human. I seek to understand in order to support you.
My journey to mental healthcare
For a while, I yearned to do work that was soul-satisfying. The beauty of my role is to witness the transformation of my clients. I particularly love to help women find or deepen their power.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is working together to identify the most pressing challenges, and then establish their treatment priority. Goal setting is not linear, but it gives us a focus for our sessions.
My first session with you
We will be discussing what you have been experiencing, and that entails me asking questions in order to gain an understanding of the difficulties you are facing. I am equally interested in knowing what internal resources you have been using in order to manage the issue.
