Hi there, I'm Jacqueline!

Hello there! My name is Jackie Frias Gonzalez and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a focus on studying relationships with both the self and others. As your therapist, I aim to strike a balance between authenticity and professionalism to create a safe and comfortable space where you can be your true self while also gaining the skills to navigate the challenges you are facing. Whether you are struggling with personal issues or relationship conflicts, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and growth. I believe in taking a collaborative approach and working together to develop a customized treatment plan that meets your unique needs and goals. I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you.

My approach

My approach to therapy is primarily centered around the individual because I firmly believe that you are the foremost authority on yourself. I see you as the key driver of change and progress toward achieving your goals. In my experience, therapy works best when it is tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and experiences. In addition to my person-centered approach, I also draw upon various evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. These modalities provide a rich array of techniques and tools that can be tailored to your specific needs and goals. For example, Solution-Focused Therapy can help us focus on your strengths and resources to create actionable solutions to your challenges. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can help us identify and challenge negative thought patterns that may be holding you back, while Dialectical Behavior Therapy can help you develop skills to manage emotional distress and improve interpersonal relationships. By integrating these modalities into our work, I aim to provide you with a comprehensive and personalized approach to therapy that can help you achieve lasting change and growth.

My focus

Working with a diverse range of clients has given me a deep understanding and appreciation for the unique challenges that different individuals and families face. For women, I specialize in addressing issues related to identity, self-esteem, and body image, as well as relationship dynamics and motherhood. With adolescents, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where they can explore their emotions and build positive coping skills to manage the stressors of adolescence. As a therapist who works with parents, I offer support and guidance on various parenting issues, such as attachment, discipline, and communication skills. I also provide specialized services for foster care and adoption families, including pre and post-placement support, attachment and bonding, and trauma-informed care. For couples, I use evidence-based interventions to help them improve communication, deepen intimacy, and strengthen their relationships. I have experience working with couples who are struggling with issues such as infidelity, loss of trust, and difficulty resolving conflicts. Life transitions can be challenging, and I am equipped to help individuals navigate significant changes such as job loss, divorce, and retirement. I also provide support to professionals and students dealing with work or academic stress, burnout, or career transitions. I believe that developing emotional awareness and management skills is essential for personal growth and healing. My approach is rooted in mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral techniques, and I help clients develop skills to manage their emotions and build resilience. I am comfortable treating conditions such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, using evidence-based interventions tailored to each client's unique needs and goals.

My communication style

Find a comfortable spot, take a seat, sip on something soothing, and let's take our time to talk. I am here for you.

My journey to mental healthcare

I like most others did not emerge unscathed from life's tragedies, which compelled me to embark on a healing journey that has become my life's work. It is now my calling to support individuals in their healing process.

My goals for you

After your first session, you can expect me to work with you to form a plan for moving forward. We'll discuss your goals and what you hope to get out of our time together. I'll help you identify areas of your life that you want to work on and come up with actionable steps that you can take to make progress. We'll work together to develop strategies to overcome any obstacles that may arise and help you make lasting positive changes in your life.

My first session with you

Often times it can be nerve-racking to share a part of yourself with someone new which is why it is important to me that we establish what it means to cultivate a safe space for you during our first meeting.
