I am Dr. Joyce Cordosi, a Clinical Psychologist based in Sacramento, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and adolescents to effectively manage anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and life stage transition-related issues.
My approach
I believe in empowering my clients with the necessary, relevant tools and resources that will allow them to engage in a healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling lifestyle. My therapy approach involves getting to know my client's unique background (cultural, age, sexual orientation, spiritual belief, etc.), working together to prioritize what they consider important, and individualizing treatment both in and out-of-session to accomplish their specified goals. I also focus on helping them recognize the emotions holding them back and proactively work through those feelings.
My focus
With over 20 years of experience, I am well-equipped to help you work through a wide range of presenting problems including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, substance use, and behavioral issues. I also specialized in a culturally sensitive approach to mental health assessment and treatment.
My communication style
My style of communication is open, compassionate, and supportive. My clients are provided with a safe and confidential space to explore and process their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I am also bilingual and can communicate with both English and Cantonese-speaking clients.
