Hi, I am Blake Williamson. I have been in private practice for over 13 years, specializing in anxiety, depression, anger issues, addiction, trauma, and PTSD. I hold a Master's in Education in Counseling (M.Ed.) from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
My approach
My approach to therapy involves actively asking questions to get to know my clients, clarify their goals, and help them achieve those goals. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and, if needed, Traumatic Incident Reduction Therapy. I aim to provide tools, techniques, and homework to assist clients in reaching their objectives.
My focus
I work with individuals, focusing on issues such as addiction, anxiety, depression, coping skills, alcohol use, anger management, grief, self-esteem, substance use, trauma, and PTSD.
My communication style
Clients can expect me to clarify their goals and actively engage in their therapy process. I strive to create a supportive and collaborative environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and experiences.
My goals for you
My goal for you is to help you heal your mental health, recognizing that mental health is interconnected with physical health. I am committed to assisting you in achieving your therapy goals and improving your overall well-being. If I find that your issues are beyond my scope of practice, I will refer you to other appropriate therapists or resources.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other and establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. I will ask questions to understand your background, current challenges, and desired outcomes from therapy. Together, we will clarify your goals and develop a plan to work towards them. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process and my approach.
