Hello!! My name is Cecilia Camacho Sandoval. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). My approach is both person-centered and existential. My area of practice is the treatment and prevention of mental illness, emotional disturbance, and behavioral disturbance.
My approach
My style can often be described as empathetic, energetic, self-empowering, compassionate, and humorous. I ensure you a non-judgmental, safe space where you can comfortably be yourself and show up as your authentic self. I commonly use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Person-Centered, Existential, Humanistic, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused (SFBT).
My focus
I provide psychotherapy for adolescents/teens, women, men, and LGBTQIA+. I am comfortable treating mood disorders, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, psychosis, addiction, anger management, self-esteem, job stress, general stress, and trauma and PTSD.
My communication style
Sessions with me are often empowering and energetic. I provide a safe place to be authentic but I will challenge you to grow towards your personal goals as well as call out any self-destructive behaviors limiting your growth and full potential.
My journey to mental healthcare
I grew up in a small disadvantaged town with primarily low SES, Spanish-speaking immigrants. This really humbled my life experience, gave me gratitude, and ignited the desire to be of service to others. My desire to be of service to others coupled with believing in diversity, growth and advocacy drove me to become a therapist. Being a part of someone's life journey is a privilege and truly is fulfilling to see someone overcome challenges, grow and develop, and live a life they never envisioned.
My goals for you
Goals are based on your presenting problem and the growth and behavior changes you would like to see while we work together. I will help you explore and narrate these but it's ultimately your journey and goals.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will complete the intake assessment and establish goals and a treatment plan. Expect to feel some vulnerability sharing information, but it will help me understand your presenting problem and why you are seeking services and ensure we are a good fit.
