Hi there, I'm Joseph!

Change is never easy, and we all need support and validation in confronting life's challenges. I believe therapy can really help sort out the whys and wherefores. It did so early on for me. I had a severe bout of depression in my twenties, and talking about it with a trained therapist was life-changing. It is what made me want to do this work and why I love what I do to this day. As a clinically trained psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience, my goal is to help you discover ways to adapt and thrive in the face of uncertainty. I'll also help you to feel better -- whether that means less depressed, less anxious, or just more you. Our work together will be goal-focused and directed at what is causing you the most distress. It will also be behavioral and focused in the now. You'll learn to understand your triggers and how the body and the brain work together. You'll also learn healthy coping skills. Most importantly, by helping you to develop an observing self, you'll reduce impulsivity and learn to respond to life's problems rather than react to them.
