My name is Jeane Haining and I am a Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D.) based in Los Angeles, California, working with clients via telehealth. I work with adults, primarily focusing on issues such as anxiety, stress, and self-esteem using Therapy Types such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Supportive Therapy.
My approach
My approach to therapy is individualized to the needs of each client. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, and Supportive Therapy. I am dedicated to providing a supportive, collaborative working relationship with each client, in an effort to address each client's concerns/issues. Providing a compassionate environment in which each client's thoughts and feelings can be unpacked and explored helps to facilitate the direction of treatment.
My focus
My current client population includes adults who may be dealing with life's many challenges. This may include experiencing feelings such as anxiety, stress, and issues such as life transitions, self-esteem, and women's issues. Practical skill-building and problem-solving may be provided. Each client's intrinsic resources for change and success are encouraged.
My communication style
My communication style is warm, compassionate, and accommodating. I work toward creating a therapeutic environment in which my clients feel supported and comfortable about sharing confidential information. By being an active listener with unconditional positive regard, I seek to understand each client's unique thoughts and feelings; thus providing support toward enhancing self-awareness and moving toward reaching individualized counseling goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a psychologist during my college years. I really enjoyed my classes learning about psychology. I have also gravitated toward helping and being of service to others. I have worked for over 20 years in various clinical settings such as hospitals and counseling centers. It has been a privilege providing support and encouragement to clients working toward their individual goals.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting with clients focuses on working together to explore initial/ongoing goals for treatment. Providing a supportive, collaborative working relationship to address each client's concerns/issues will be ongoing. Individualized focus may include exploring factors that may be contributing to each client's issues/symptoms, practical skill-building, and problem-solving strategies. Each client's intrinsic resources for change, strengths, and successes may be encouraged.
My first session with you
My initial session with you is to provide support as well as to learn more about you by obtaining your background information, current symptoms, and possible factors that may be contributing to your current concerns. Your initial individualized counseling goals will be explored. My initial session with you will also include your treatment consent and discuss the therapy process.
