Hello. My name is Vernalyn, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have had the privilege of working with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, acute stress, life transitions, life stressors, family dynamic issues, coping with new medical diagnoses, end-of-life, and other various life challenges.
My approach
My approach combines cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational therapy, solution-focused, psychodynamic, and client-centered approach. I will tailor my intervention to each specific client to best address their needs. My modalities include Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution Focused Brief (SFBT), Strength-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, and Intervention.
My focus
I am willing to see Individuals and Minors (13-17). My specialties are Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Life Coaching, and Older Adults.
My communication style
I am passionate about working with individuals who are committed to making positive changes in their life, working towards personal goals and growth, and strengthening problem-solving skills. I am here to support and empower you in a warm, safe, trusting, collaborative, learning environment, and non-judgmental space.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Social Work degree and completed my clinical hours for licensure from August 2013 to 2017. Helping others and empowering positive change has always been my passion, which led me to pursue a career in mental healthcare as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

My goal is to provide you with a supportive, collaborative space to work through challenges, develop coping skills, gain insights, and make meaningful changes to improve your well-being and reach your personal goals. I aim to empower you with tools and strategies tailored to your unique needs.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy and begin to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship. I will listen to understand your perspective, challenges, and goals. Together, we will start to formulate a plan to address your needs and help you move toward positive change and growth. You can expect a warm, non-judgmental, and supportive environment to begin your therapy journey.
