My approach
The modalities that I use in practice are strength-based and motivational.
My focus
I enjoy working with patients who suffer from chronic mental illness and substance abuse. I have extensive experience working with patients who suffer from Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Anxiety and Depression.
My communication style
My tone is calm; My intention is to assist my client in feeling comfortable and supported.
My journey to mental healthcare
I completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at CSU Long Beach and a Masters in Social Work at the University of Southern California with concentration in Mental Health. After graduating, I worked with clients who were court ordered to complete a DUI program which piqued my interest in substance misuse. Subsequently, I pursued an education in substance abuse counseling. After the completion of my studies, I received an LAADC (license in drug and alcohol counseling). I enjoy working with patients who suffer from mental illness.
My goals for you
During goal setting, I will partner with the client to identify short-term and long-term goals. We can reevaluate the goals if needed; the goals are used as a guide and not considered disappointing if not achieved in a projected time frame.
My first session with you
During a first session, we can spend time getting a feel for each other; at this time, my client should get some understanding of what to look forward to during treatment.
