Hi there, My name is Bridget Delaney. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I work with adolescents and adults. I have specialized experience working with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am currently in training to offer EMDR virtually via telehealth.
My approach
My therapeutic approach varies based on the needs of each individual person. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have an eclectic and humanistic approach to therapy. I enjoy working with clients personally to develop a sense of what will work best for you as an individual to meet your goals.
My focus
I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teens and young adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and eating disorders. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and to build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. I enjoy working with individuals who are navigating various life transitions and challenges. Life is full of transitions and pressures, these can often lead to struggles in our personal lives presenting as anxiety, depression, stress, and reactions to trauma. These can manifest as both physical and emotional difficulties. I work with clients to help them navigate these challenges and transitions to build a path to healthy satisfying lives.
My communication style
I work to build a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space so we can work together to explore anything that may come up. I offer a gentle, calm, and accommodating approach to therapy, allowing you to lead at a pace you are comfortable with.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always had an interest in working with people. I worked in public service for several years, as an Emergency Medical Technician and later worked closely with Law Enforcement. I have always had an interest in mental health and have advocated for mental health awareness and to break the stigma that sometimes surrounds mental health. I have worked with many different populations including teens, adults, veterans, and first responders.
My goals for you
I work closely with clients to identify and plan a course to meet your goals. I find it important to build a level of trust and rapport between myself and clients, allowing a comfortable space and finding out what you are searching for in therapy, then working together to help you to meet these goals.
My first session with you
Our first session is generally spent getting to know one another. I follow your pace, and we can take it as fast or slow as you feel comfortable with. We will work to build a connection and I will work to better understand what brings you into counseling at this time in your life. This process will look a little different for everyone and this is the beauty of counseling,
