My name is Audrey Ramos and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. My approach is Strength Based, but also challenging. I am skilled in Seeking Safety, CBT techniques, Solution Focused, and Motivational Interviewing.
My approach
I enjoy establishing rapport with my clients and building a working, trusting, supportive environment to help my clients heal and grow. I practice reflective listening and help clients process difficult emotions to help them build empathy for themselves to move toward a place of progress, growth, and an increase in overall functioning. The most common modalities include Seeking Safety, CBT, DBT, MI, Solution Focused, and Strength Based Interventions.
My focus
I am most comfortable working with clients who are experiencing a moderate impairment in their functioning due to depression, anxiety, anger management issues, OCD traits or tendencies, distorted thought process, life crisis, life transitions, and trauma survivors.
My communication style
Compassionate, calm, empathetic. Also, challenging as needed.
My journey to mental healthcare
I worked as an Emergency Response Social Worker for Child Welfare for many years. I wanted to try and get into preventative care to help reduce violence, abuse, neglect, and trauma. I also want to help people heal from trauma and develop emotional intelligence to feel more prepared to handle dark emotions as they surface.
My goals for you
From the start of the assessment session, I ask clients to form short-term and long-term goals. I also ask that clients express what their expectations from therapy are, to ensure we work toward meeting that expectation.
My first session with you
I ask a lot of questions to help me gain direction on what the client is looking to achieve in therapy. Also, would love clients to come to their first session ready to talk about the difficult emotions and struggles they have been having that have led them to start their therapeutic journey.
