Eric Victoria Licensed Clinical Social Worker/Therapist, LCSW.
My approach
Is your daily life filled with fear, anxiety, stress, anger, and depression? Suffering from addiction, marital, or family issues? I hope to help you with evidence-based theories/modalities to live a better life. I have over 25 years of experience dealing with these issues and am committed to utilizing that knowledge for your success. Through gainful insight, education, collaboration, and a willingness to take steps for improvement, positive change can be achieved. Each person is unique given their life experiences and situation. Therapy will be tailored to each client's strengths and weaknesses to manage life stressors. Various practical solution-focused approaches will be integrated into your daily living to make impactful gains. My professional experience has led me to help others dealing with high anxiety, depression, and grief. I can also assist those having problems with their interpersonal relationships as well as addiction. If you wish for a better tomorrow, change should happen now.
My focus
I am most comfortable helping clients with anxiety, depression, phobias, addiction, mental illness, grief, and marital issues.
My communication style
The tone/environment is catered to the individual. This is discussed during our initial assessment as to their expectations of therapy and which style works best for them. Some clients hope the therapist assumes the role of the pundit and provides closer management/supervisory style; others expect a more supportive role and prefer to be heard. Gaining rapport by understanding them first is the most important. I believe that the client/therapist connection dictates a positive outcome.
My journey to mental healthcare
I initially graduated college to work in the business world. Once after graduation, I knew that wasn't for me. I knew I needed to help people or choose a career that makes the world a better place than when I left it. My path eventually led to social work.
My goals for you
First understanding their problem and what they wish to work on. Second, what are their limitations and what have they tried that hasn't worked? Third, formulate with the client an action plan that includes homework and strive for small gains that amount to large gains by the end.
My first session with you
The expectation is that we get to know each other first. I am assessing them as much as they are assessing me. Address any questions, anxieties, or reservations.
