Hi there, I'm Guadalupe!

As a mental health professional with 13 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, families, and the military population. My experience spans across various settings such as county mental health, behavioral health, schools, foster care, and now private practice.

My approach

I believe in equipping children with coping skills at a young age to build resiliency over time. For adults, I specialize in supporting those experiencing anxiety, depression, women's issues, co-dependency in relationships, and I have a special interest in working with individuals facing grief and loss. My therapeutic approach draws from various modalities including Attachment-based, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical (DBT), Family Systems, Complicated Grief Therapy (CGT), Humanistic, Narrative, Mindfulness-Based, Psychodynamic, Compassion Focused, Strength-Based, and Solution Focused techniques.

My focus

My patient focus is on individuals. I am passionate about working with children and parents, as well as adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, divorce, family conflict, grief, life transitions, parenting, pregnancy and postpartum issues, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress, trauma and PTSD, racial identity, and developing coping skills.

My communication style

I strive to create a supportive and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. My communication style is warm, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe in working together with my clients to identify their strengths, set goals, and develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with their unique needs and preferences.

My journey to mental healthcare

My journey to mental healthcare began in September 2007, when I started accruing clinical hours for licensure at Kingsview Counseling Services in Hanford, CA. I continued my clinical work at Uplift Family Services (formerly EMQ Families First) in Fresno, CA until March 2013. These experiences solidified my passion for supporting individuals and families in their healing journeys and led me to pursue a career in private practice.

My goals for you

My goal for you is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we will work to identify and build upon your strengths, develop new coping skills, and create positive changes in your life. I am committed to supporting you in your journey toward healing, growth, and increased well-being.

My first session with you

During our first session, we will take the time to get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. I will listen to your concerns, ask questions to better understand your unique situation, and collaborate with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your goals. This initial session is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have and to determine if we are a good fit to work together.
