My name is Antoinette Babers. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe in taking a collaborative approach to helping clients reach their goals. I work with Individuals (children and adults), couples, and also families.
My approach
My approach to therapy is a collaborative, client-centered approach. My most common theoretical approaches are client-centered, CBT, DBT, and Family Systems.
My focus
I find myself working mostly with women, but I do work with men, children, and couples as well. I have worked with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma-related issues, personality disorders, those suffering from domestic violence issues, divorce, panic disorders, anger management, and attachment issues.
My communication style
I am an empath. My sessions are driven by empathetic listening and unconditional positive regard. I have the ability to help my clients feel heard and at ease at the first session. I am capable of forming a positive rapport with my clients right away.
My journey to mental healthcare
Sometimes, due to no fault of our own, we find ourselves faced with difficulties, things that seem too overwhelming for us to handle alone. My desire is to assist people in actively bringing about healing for their wounded hearts and in growing strong as individuals through that process. It is this desire to help people recover that led me to become a therapist.
My goals for you
I assist my clients in setting their goals for their therapy. Goals are set collaboratively with my guidance.
My first session with you
During the first session, clients can expect me to be a listener; someone who helps them explore their reason for seeking therapy and someone who can help them set their therapeutic goals. I also let my clients know what they can realistically expect from their treatment.
