My name is Orfanelli Ambriz and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to working through telehealth with individuals in Los Angeles, California, and across the state. I work with adults facing a variance of difficulties that have led to stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and difficult-to-manage adversities. As a psychodynamic therapist, I help my clients dive deep in an effort to gain clarity and direction towards a better tomorrow.
My approach
My approach to therapy is client-led, as I allow the individual to begin from where they are and are ready to start. My focus is to find the connections and guide exploration in an effort to build self-awareness and deeper insight. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma processing, and a psychodynamic approach to support understanding of how experiences are interpreted and emotionally received.
My focus
In my experience, I have found it to be easily relatable and open to the multitude of struggles throughout life. I'm well immersed in the difficulties faced by adults who underwent the hardships of being first generation, who experienced a lack of guidance, difficulty with relationships, attachment struggles, and finding their essence in identity. I'm comfortable working in dealing with the outcomes that these difficulties become such as depression, anxiety, and trauma.
My communication style
My communication style is attentive, calm, and easygoing. I want my clients to know they have full autonomy in an environment where they can grow without judgment, be vulnerable without fear, and be open to being supported in taking ownership.
My journey to mental healthcare
I can honestly say this profession chose me. I'm passionate about the healing journey. I see the human being as ever-evolving where change is unavoidable, but growth is a personal choice. It humbles me to be part of someone's story that leads them to a happier life.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting is to build a foundational relationship that leads my clients to start understanding how their current circumstance was developed and reinforced throughout their life. Through the course of treatment, clients will challenge themselves to face obstacles/barriers in an effort to develop skills, tools, and a new sense of self.

During the first session, clients can expect to focus on current circumstances and an overall exploration of attributing factors. My goal is to understand where you are and discuss how therapy can help.
