My name is Yisook, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the state of California. I have over 20 years of counseling experience working with diverse groups of people from all walks of life.
My approach
I have deep respect for the uniqueness of every client I work with. I use a straightforward approach but work in a structured way by setting measurable goals from the beginning. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based, Strength-Based, and Gottman Method modalities.
My focus
I work with individuals, couples, and families. Some of my specialties include ADHD, anxiety, grief, life transitions, OCD, parenting, prenatal and postpartum issues, relationship issues, self-esteem, and stress.

My communication style: I communicate in a straightforward manner while still providing a comfortable environment for my clients. I encourage self-efficacy and independence in all my clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey to mental healthcare: I completed a Master of Clinical Social Work (MSW with clinical concentration) from Columbia University School of Social Work in 1989. My clinical hours for licensure were from 1989 to 1993 at Catholic Charities /Bensonhurst Senior Assistance Center in Brooklyn, NY.

My goals for you: My greatest joy is seeing my clients no longer need my assistance, as they become independent and own who they are and their strengths. I aim to help you reach your goals and thrive on your own.
