Hello, I'm Ashley, I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with an M.A. in Forensic Psychology. I believe that every individual deserves validation, empathy, and to feel valued.
My approach
I primarily utilize person-centered, trauma-informed, and interpersonal approaches to treatment, although I have experience using a variety of treatment approaches. I feel that flexibility in finding the right treatment is important in navigating the therapy process and feeling you are accomplishing your goals in a way that fits for each unique individual.
My focus
I have worked with diverse populations with diverse mental health issues and concerns. I have extensive experience working with individuals with distress related to trauma and interpersonal/relationship skills.
My communication style
My goal is to relieve distress through active listening and finding the treatment that works best for you. I feel that therapy is a place where you should feel safe and active in your own treatment. I primarily utilize empathy and validation and believe building a relationship of trust is necessary before delving deep into experiences that contribute to clients' goals.
My goals for you
I believe collaboration is fundamental in setting goals and it is important that a client feels they are an active participant in achieving their goals in a way that works best for them.
My first session with you
In my first session, I did not delve into distressing experiences but rather formed a therapeutic relationship and goals so that the individual could decide if I was a good fit for them in the therapeutic relationship and meeting goals.
