Hi there, I'm Robyn!

Hello, My name is Robyn Altmann and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, California. I work with clients throughout California via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, toxic and unhealthy relationships. I work from a strength-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach.

My approach

My therapeutic approach is eclectic which allows me to be flexible and use the most effective method to address each client's individual needs. In my work, I incorporate techniques such as mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused strategies.

My focus

I have found that my approach and training fit well with adults who may be dealing with toxic, unhealthy, or unfulfilling relationships and are having difficulty setting healthy boundaries and limits within any type of relationship. Together with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures, this can lead to anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. I work with clients to strengthen boundaries, better understand the unhealthy dynamics of their relationships as well as navigate life stressors in order to develop better relationships and enhance life satisfaction.

My communication style

My communication is calm, warm, and empathic. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space for clients to feel comfortable sharing and being open.

My goals for you

My approach to goal setting is that we will start by developing trust and comfort and then we will work in a collaborative manner to begin to develop goals. I take time to understand what you hope to accomplish in therapy so that we can set realistic goals that fit your needs. Throughout our time working together, we will track our progress regularly by checking in about your goals

My first session with you

What you can expect from your first session with me is to spend most of our time talking about how you've been feeling lately as well as the events that brought you to therapy now. I will ask questions to better understand your situation. These questions will help give me a sense of where our sessions should focus. The session will also be focused on building trust and an initial connection so that we can develop a strong therapeutic relationship.
