Mariam Aldaz Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Hello, my name is Mariam. My approach

My approach to therapy is based on the needs and challenges of each client that I work with. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Humanistic therapy, and Emotion-Focused therapy. As a therapist, I take a non-directive approach offering empathy and unconditional positive regard, encouraging people to heal and find personal fulfillment. As a therapist, my approach is to help people to better understand and cope with their presenting concerns.

I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with life transitions, adjustment, marital problems, grief, anxiety, depression, worries, and stress related to home life and work.

My communication style

I provide a safe environment that is calm and welcoming so that clients feel at ease and comfortable to talk about painful, embarrassing, or traumatic memories without feeling judged.

My journey to mental healthcare

While growing up I had friends and family who suffered from mental health problems and were unable to find quality mental health services. I made it my calling to go into the profession of providing the best quality care for a diverse population.

My first session with you

The first session consists of establishing rapport with the client, getting to know the client, discussing the reason for seeking therapy, and determining what the client wants to accomplish in therapy.
