My name is Courtney Wohld, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I provide individual and family counseling services to children, teens, and adults.
My approach
I believe everyone's therapeutic experience should be tailored specifically to the individual, and incorporate several different treatment interventions based on each person's need. My treatment interventions include, but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Strength-based, and Play Therapy.
My focus
Some of my specializations include helping individuals heal after trauma and loss, overcoming depression, managing anxiety, improving self-esteem and self-care, solving behavioral problems, improving relationships, and coping with issues around life transitions.
My communication style
It is important to me that the clients I work with feel comfortable in therapy, but that they also feel that personal growth can take place through the therapeutic process. I create an environment where clients feel free to share deep matters with me, while also creating a space to help with self-improvement when the client is ready.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have always had a passion for helping people and started working with disabled youth and adults through equine-assisted therapy in high school. This later became the inspiration behind my career choice as a therapist.
