For over 25 years, I have helped individuals and families heal from the impact of mental illness, trauma, and loss in their lives. If you are feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, whether with a partner or other important people in your life, call for a free consultation to see if therapy might be right for you.
My approach
My therapeutic approach draws from attachment-based, cognitive behavioral (CBT), compassion-focused, complicated grief (CGT), dialectical (DBT), EMDR, emotionally focused (EFT), exposure response prevention, and trauma-focused modalities. I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual and couple I work with.
My focus
I specialize in working with adolescents/teens, adults, older adults, and couples struggling with issues such as anxiety, codependency, depression, grief, infidelity, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), relationship issues, self-esteem, sexual abuse, sports performance, trauma and PTSD, women's issues, and stress.
My communication style
In our work together, you can expect me to be a compassionate, non-judgmental listener. I will provide a safe space for you to process your experiences, develop insight, and build practical coping skills. My communication style is warm, direct, and collaborative.
My journey to mental healthcare
I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Sacramento State University. My journey to the mental health field was motivated by a deep desire to support people in overcoming life's challenges, healing from painful experiences, and creating more fulfilling lives and relationships.
My goals for you
My goal is to empower you with the self-understanding and tools to break free from unhealthy patterns, enhance your resilience, and cultivate more joy and meaning in your life. I aim to help you develop a stronger sense of self and build healthier, more satisfying connections with others.
My first session with you
In our first session, we will discuss what is bringing you to therapy and collaborate to define your unique treatment goals. I will gather some background information to better understand your current struggles in the context of your life history. From there, we will begin the therapeutic process of helping you heal, grow, and thrive.
