As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I provide individual, couples, and family therapy. I graduated from Argosy University with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology, and Marriage and Family Therapy in 2014.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that our thoughts directly impact our mood and actions. However, I also understand that trauma and adverse childhood experiences can have an impact beyond the cognitive realm. Together, we can work to find the best therapeutic modalities to reach a better understanding of yourself, leading to an improved quality of life and the confidence to be perfectly imperfect. I draw upon Attachment-based, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Couples, Dialectical (DBT), Family Systems, Interpersonal, Mindfulness-Based, Play, Psychodynamic, Trauma-Focused, and Solution-Focused therapies to tailor my approach to your unique needs.
My focus
I work with a diverse range of clients, including couples, minors (ages 13-17), families, individuals, preteens (ages 8-12), and children (ages 5-7). My areas of specialty encompass ADHD, adolescents/teens, anger management, anxiety, behavioral issues, career counseling, child abuse or neglect, children's issues, codependency, coping skills, cultural stress, depression, family conflict, gender identity, grief, impulsivity, infidelity, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, marital/pre-marital concerns, men's issues, mood disorders, OCD, parenting, peer relationships, racial identity, racial trauma, relationship issues, school issues, self-esteem, self-harm, stress, suicidal ideation, women's issues, and trauma/PTSD.
My communication style
I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where you can gain perspective on your life, strengthen relationships, and advocate for yourself. Together, we will engage in open, honest communication as we work towards your therapeutic goals.
My journey to mental healthcare
My journey in mental healthcare began with a deep desire to help others navigate life's challenges and cultivate resilience. This led me to pursue a Master of Social Work degree and extensive clinical training across various settings, including outpatient specialty clinics, crisis intervention, structured outpatient programs, and non-profits. These experiences have equipped me with the skills and empathy to support individuals from all walks of life.
My goals for you
My primary goal is to empower you with the insights, coping strategies, and self-awareness needed to lead a more fulfilling life. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where you feel heard, validated, and motivated to make positive changes. Whether you are seeking personal growth, healthier relationships, or relief from emotional distress, I am here to support you every step of the way.
My first session with you
During our first session, we will focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust, respect, and collaboration. I will take the time to listen to your story, understand your unique challenges and aspirations, and discuss your expectations for therapy. Together, we will identify your strengths, explore your goals, and develop a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your values and needs. This initial session will lay the foundation for our therapeutic journey, setting the stage for meaningful growth and lasting change.
