Hi, my name is Mona Attarian, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). The individuals I meet face a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and trauma. I work with adolescents, adults, and families.
My approach
My approach to therapy addresses the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My approach is collaborative, warm, and direct, as I provide a safe and non-judgmental place. I use a wide range of approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, Trauma Focused Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
My focus
I prefer to work with clients facing challenges, including trauma, grief/loss, anxiety, and depression. I plan to collaborate with individuals to address their needs and concerns.
My communication style
I provide a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental place to collaborate with a client to address their pain and concerns. My passion is to help individuals explore ways to manage their pain while collaborating with individuals to reach goals specifically tailored to fit their needs.
My journey to mental healthcare
I knew at a very young age (senior year in High School) of my desire to help people. I started working in a program provided by my high school, offering my time to listen to students struggling academically. From this experience, I came to recognize my passion for the field of psychology.
My goals for you
I collaborate with clients in setting measurable and realistic goals.
My first session with you
During the first session, I plan to get to know the client, such as the client's needs and reason(s) for seeking services. Then, I plan to use a psychobiographical questionnaire to gather more information about the client (such as inquiring about symptoms).
