Hello, I’m Jeanette. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. I have served our community since 2012 by assisting adults, children, and couples with varying life experiences in gaining clarity, perspective, and resolution.
My approach
My therapeutic approaches include interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. My goal is to support each of my patients as we navigate through the journey of your healing and enter the next stages of your life.
My focus
I embrace people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and situations. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life experiences, and together we will work toward decreasing associated symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and conflict. I have compassion and respect for all of my patients and will genuinely support you through the highs and lows of life as we navigate through your healing journey for a more manageable and sustainable future.
My communication style
Communicating openly, authentically, and honestly with my Patients is an integral part of creating a safe and open environment for my Patients to communicate freely. It is important to me that my Patients feel heard, respected and have the appropriate support to explore the complexities of life that brought them to therapy in a safe setting. I work to motivate individual adults and couples to learn strategies to help decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, and conflict. Through compassion and empathy, I enthusiastically care for those I support and guide them through the highs and lows of life to a more manageable and sustainable future.
My journey to mental healthcare
The world can be a stressful place at times, and having a safe, trustworthy, and supportive therapist can help ease our stress as we navigate the challenges of life. I have found throughout my life that people express feeling comfortable sharing their thoughts, emotions, distress, and highs of life with me. My professional experiences include serving children and adults with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, gender and sexual orientation-related stressors (LBGTQIA+), eating disorders, body dysmorphia, childhood-onset trauma, sexual abuse, developmental delays, severe mental illness, criminogenic behaviors (also while incarcerated), military Veterans and their families, survivors and aggressors of Intimate Partner Violence, and anger management difficulties. I openly embrace people of all various backgrounds and beliefs. I believe that our world is only enriched by these differences that make us unique individuals, and we can all contribute to making this world a better place by practicing kindness to all, starting with being kind to ourselves.
My goals for you
Goal-setting is a collaborative approach between the therapist and the Patient. Together we will identify your main stressors and challenges to increasing your mental health, interpersonal communication, and overall well-being. Together we will work toward removing barriers to your achievement of overall peace, growth, exploration, and health.
My first session with you
Our first session together will be an introductory session where I will ask to hear details about the situations bringing you to therapy. I will want to hear from you how I can best be of support to you as we move forward through the present moments in life while taking into account your past experiences and beliefs. As I learn more about your expectations from therapy, we will determine the best way to improve on existing challenges, provide immediate support as needed, and we will conclude our sessions by discussing future strategies to manage stressors, practicing regular self-care, and discuss the next steps in our therapeutic process.
