Hi there, I'm Amber!

I'm Amber Trueblood LMFT, MBA. My expertise is providing solution-based therapy to clients currently dealing with relationship issues, parenting issues, challenges, feelings of overwhelm, and emotional burnout. I approach each client and their presenting problems individually in terms of their personal values, priorities, motivational styles, anxiety styles and family dynamics.

My approach

I help my clients by teaching them practical tools to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, communication tactics to minimize relationship conflicts, and parenting strategies to ease sibling rivalry, reduce bedtime chaos, and other common challenges. I often couple these practical strategies with mindfulness practices like meditation, reiki and positive visualization techniques. My primary goal is to help clients build their emotional toolbox so they can feel safe, supported, understood, respected and happy in their lives. Often we work together to shift mindset, release old patterns of behavior, and implement new habits so that positive changes can come as easily and fluidly as possible.

My focus

My core areas of expertise and experience include overwhelmed moms, couples with communication issues, new moms experiencing stress or anxiety, and parents raising profoundly gifted children. I treat clients experiencing difficult life challenges or life transitions resulting in increased feelings of anxiety, depression, or emotional exhaustion.

My communication style

I offer an atmosphere of active listening, expert guidance, and sound non-judgment. Creating a safe space for individuals to speak freely allows for honest communication where clear solutions and opportunities for growth can flourish. My clients experience kindness and compassion enfolded with straightforward, practical solutions meant to impact real positive life change.

My journey to mental healthcare

At 16 years old, I decided that I wanted to be a therapist. Helping others with emotional challenges and life transitions has been my focus for as long as I can remember. I'm fueled to do this work because I feel like it's the best way I know how to use my skills and gifts to benefit the planet and the future. By helping clients live their best lives, I feel confident and happy I'm doing my part in the world.

My goals for you

My approach allows clients to utilize a deeper self-awareness to identify the areas most likely to bring about the changes they seek in their lives. By utilizing my anxiety style framework, motivational type, and other key questions, I guide clients to create goals that encompass 90% confidence and 10% stretch.

My first session with you

In our first session, I seek to understand what brought you to reach out for support and your current emotional, mental, and physical challenges. We will discuss what to expect in our sessions together and explore both your short-term and longer-term goals. Finally, we will collaborate to choose one to two practical strategies that you can implement as homework specifically related to one or more of your primary areas of concern.
