My name is Kathy Sanguinetti, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I am a client-centred therapist who uses various modalities to help people become more connected to their true selves. I bring an open-minded and nonjudgmental approach and meet people where they are. My focus areas of practice include depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship problems.
My approach
My approach to therapy is individualized and based on each client's needs. My theoretical orientation is humanistic and psychodynamic. In therapy, I work with clients to explore and make sense of patterns that aren't serving them. I assist clients with making meaningful changes in their lives to alleviate symptoms and promote well-being and healing. I also use mindfulness-based CBT to help clients become aware of and challenge thoughts that aren’t true and are contributing to depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.
My focus
I work with adults on a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship problems.
My communication style
I offer a safe, confidential space for clients to share what is happening to them. I am a very good listener, curious, understanding, and compassionate.
My journey to mental healthcare
To be seen, heard and understood is powerful and can be healing for many people. As a therapist, it is a privilege to be present and hold space for people to heal and discover their truth and live from a place of authenticity.
