Hello, I am Amber Workman, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience. My focus is working with individuals impacted by trauma, PTSD, OCD, Anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder. I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional and trained in both cognitive and somatic approaches to providing Trauma-Informed care.
My approach
I offer evidence-based practices to treat anxiety and OCD-related disorders with a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). When treating trauma-related symptoms, I employ various cognitive and somatic-related interventions based on the Polyvagal Theory, as well as Parts Work.
My focus
I work with adults who struggle with OCD, anxiety-related disorders, and trauma-related disorders. This includes panic, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, specific phobias, psychosomatic complaints, dissociation, flashbacks, and hyper and hypo-arousal states.
My communication style
Reaching out for help and doing it with a new and unfamiliar person, can come with a range of emotions including fear and a sense of helplessness. For this reason, I prioritize a close therapeutic relationship coupled with compassion, to instill a sense of safety and empowerment. While anxiety and traumatic life experiences can be devastating, they do not need to define you and the life you live. I hope to help you trust in your own ability for growth and support you on your journey of healing.
