Darryl Moore

HI, I'm Darryl Moore, a clinical psychologist focusing on the treatment of and recovery for those affected by the consequences of compulsive sexual behaviors. I use a practical systematic and individualized approach from the Patrick Carnes recovery methods.

My approach

Initially and trough out the treatment process I take a psychoeducational approach to help clients grasp an understanding of their program and how it originated. This is followed by an eclectic approach using CBT, EMDR techniques, Mindfulness, a reality focused, and behavioral modification.

My focus

My specialty is working with addiction and in particular harmful compulsive sexual behaviors or sex addiction. This includes working with both the addict and the partner.

My communication style

I present a relaxed and comfortable and open approach focusing on creating a warm and accepting environment.

My journey to mental healthcare

The choice to enter this career was prompted by my experiences as a registered nurse as well as my own recovery work. The motivation for this work comes from knowing personally the benefits that come from this work and wanting those benefits for others.

My goals for you

Based on the presenting problem, clients are asked to identify their goals for seeking treatment and recovery. I will then them to adjust, modify, or expand on goals and expectations keeping them realistic.
