My journey in becoming a therapist involved a significant commitment of time and effort, as well as a deep desire to help others. There are many different paths to becoming a therapist, and the journey will vary depending on individual circumstances and goals, however, my journey was personal. It is my life passion to support high performers with making fulfilling lifestyle choices that support them in exploring their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, in addition to working with them to identify and address any challenges or concerns they may be facing. Overall, the work of a therapist can be very rewarding and fulfilling, as it allows them to make a positive difference in the lives of others and to be a part of their journey towards growth and healing.
My goals for you
As a clinical therapist, goal setting can be an important part of the therapeutic process. It helps to establish clear, achievable objectives for treatment, which can motivate clients and provide a sense of progress and accomplishment. There are several approaches that I can take when setting goals with clients. One of my approaches is to use the S.M.A.R.T. framework, using this framework, goals allows me to set specific and clearly defined, with measurable outcomes that can be tracked. I also utilize the following: 1) Motivational: I encourage client involvement in the goal setting process to motivate them to accomplish their goals. 2) Educative: I provide psycho-education to support goal setting tailored toward my clients self-awareness, emotional intelligence and self-honesty and trust. Together we target problematic behaviors or issues they want to work on in counseling, to develop realistic, attainable solutions. 3) Evaluative: Utilize metrics to evaluate or gauge the progress toward clients goals.
My first session with you
During a first session with me, clients can expect to spend some time discussing their reasons for seeking therapy and their goals for treatment to gain a better understanding of the client's current situation and any challenges they are facing. This includes, questions about the client's personal history, relationships, and any mental health concerns they have. I also provide my client’s with an overview of the therapeutic process and discuss any treatment recommendations they may have. It is important for my client to feel comfortable and safe during session. Overall, the goal of the first therapy session is to establish a therapeutic relationship and begin the process of addressing the client's concerns and working towards their goals for treatment.
