My name is Kelli Blanchfield, I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for over 25 years. I am based in the greater Los Angeles area in California, working statewide with clients ages 18 and up, via Telehealth. I work with adults, older adults, and young adults, specializing in depression, anxiety, and life transitions, including grief and loss.
My approach
My approach to therapy is a collaborative process with my client. I have experience with many different diagnoses, situations, and approaches, but have found most often that the evidence-based practices of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) are most helpful in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and others.
My focus
Most often, my work has involved treatment of depression and/or anxiety in its various forms, and helping clients experiencing life transitions, such as career changes, marriage, divorce, retirement, and others, including grief and loss. I have worked with adults of all ages, and have a history of working with older adults, as well as the LGBTQ+ population.
My communication style
My communication style is friendly, collaborative, Some past clients have reported feeling calmer after speaking with me. The first session involves getting to know you, your concerns, what brought you to therapy, and identifying your specific goals.
My goals for you
My approach to goal setting first focuses on your desired outcomes for therapy. It is an opportunity to determine the best approach to treatment, and together, to develop measurable goals that can help you see progress.
My first session with you
The first session involves getting to know you, your concerns, how you have been feeling, some of your history, and what brought you to therapy now. It is also an opportunity for me to answer any initial questions you may have about therapy. Overall it is to begin to build a trusting working relationship, with focus on your needs and goals.
