Greetings. I am a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience working with children and families across a variety of domains, with the last seven years being in clinical counseling. I earned a BS and MS and psychology from the University of North Florida, with a focus on developmental and general psychology. Additionally, I have an MSW from Albany State University, focusing on clinical social work. I have provided various counseling/therapy to individuals and families from different demographics.
My approach
As a therapist, it has been my experience that individuals seeking counseling respond well to a strengths based, client-centered approach. This approach to therapy provides a safe and nurturing environment for the client so they can feel comfortable and confident in discussing their innermost personal emotions, motivations, thoughts, and experiences.
My focus
Practicing from a generalist perspective, I typically provide treatment to individuals ages 18 and up. As a generalist, I am most comfortable working with individuals experiencing adjustment disorders, anxiety, attachment issues, depression, emotion dysregulation, life’s transitions, relationship struggles, thought problems, and trauma (C-PTSD, PTSD).
My communication style
As a clinician, it has been my experience that clients report feeling most comfortable and empowered when I meet them where they are at emotionally, individually, mentally, and spiritually. I have found the best way to achieve this is to provide a calm, nurturing, safe paced communication style during each session.
