I am Ophelia Bates, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you naturally have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. My approach
My methods of therapy are based in family systems and cognitive related theories. I believe in learning life long coping skills to self empower my clients to live the healthy, high functioning style they desire.
My focus
My clinical population is adults and teens of late adolescence. I specialize in helping clients with personal growth and developing healthy routines to reduce the effects of anxiety, depression, personality disorders, trauma and or comorbidities related to mental distress.
My communication style
My practice embodies a professional, yet comfortable environment dedicated to providing mental health therapy services in a warm and caring manner. My client population is diverse and inclusive. My approach is calm, engaging and thought provoking.

My clients lead the way in goal setting, having their input and current level of readiness always at the forefront. I meet my clients where they are and move at the pace we set together.
My first session with you
From the very start clients should expect to be heard, feel encouraged and safe while working with me. If appropriate, challenges and tasks may be utilized as well.
