Hi, I'm Dr. Anna Laurie. I'm a Clinical Psychologist with twenty years of experience in the mental health field. My work focuses primarily on adults who are experiencing anxiety and depression, often in the context of stressful life problems. My goal is to help them get their lives back on track
My approach
What sets my practice apart is a focus on skills building. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral therapy and mindfulness to help people identify tools of the most benefit to them. These skills or tools can be used in the first session and then used for a lifetime. My approach is solution-focused and collaborative, and mental health issues are always considered in the context of a person's physical health, relationships, beliefs and values, and other important domains of life.
My focus
People who benefit most from the type of therapy I offer often say they are sick of feeling the way they do, and they want to do something different. They are ready to take a deep dive into their own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and to try new ways of thinking and doing that will lead them to their own goals. Although the past is important, we will work using the problems you are facing today and our focus will be on the here and now.
My communication style
I strive to create an environment for my clients where they feel safe and supported. I believe mental health therapy is some of the best, bravest work we as humans can do but it isn't always easy. It takes work, and it takes courage. Knowing that it is very important to me that I create an environment where people can completely feel safe to do some of the most important work of their lives.

It is of primary importance to me that you are always moving forward to reach your therapy goals. You will receive a personalized treatment plan that will contain your goals and list the steps we will take to get you there.
My first session with you
From the first session, we will look at how you as an individual experience life's difficulties. After getting to know about you, I'll give you questionnaires we'll use in each session to evaluate your progress. And you will be able to choose from specific tools that will help you during therapy and after, that you can use to help you get through tough times.
