My name is Tracy Crowell, and I am a licensed mental health professional and a nationally certified counselor. I am currently working on my doctoral degree in Psychology. My goal is to help individuals who are struggling with life's issues and challenges and implement coping strategies and insight that will help them find the solutions they are looking for to live a happier and more fulfilled life. This provider resides in Hawaii.
My approach
My approach to therapy focuses on the needs of each client that I work with. I use an integrative approach and commonly use cognitive behavioral therapy, insight therapy, psychoeducation, and mindfulness to understand the client's situation and work together with the client to find acceptable solutions for their problems.
My focus
The clients that I work with, that are a good fit for my style and approach of therapy, are young adults and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relational issues, adjustment issues, and trauma. This often takes the form of dealing with life transitions and adjustments, everyday stress, work stress, academic challenges, struggling relationships, family issues, and traumatic events or experiences.
My communication style
My communication style is calm, nonjudgmental, and personable. My goal is to build positive rapport and trust with the client, so they are comfortable sharing their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with me as we work towards moving forward towards their desired outcome in life.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I have always had the desire to help individuals that are struggling with life issues. Through my own experiences and those that I have observed or associated with, I have always had the desire to help ease others' burdens and help them find solutions to their mental health issues. I enjoy helping individuals and seeing the positive outcomes in their life.
My goals for you
My goals for clients would be to understand why they have come to therapy, and what they would like to work on and accomplish. An important part of this process is building trust and getting comfortable with the therapy process. We will work on discovering how to implement strategies and interventions for each situation that comes up and set goals to help with their progress.
My first session with you
What you can expect in our first session together is for us to spend most of the time talking about what brings you to therapy and gathering information about your history and background that is related to your mental health. It is also a time when you start to get to know me. The first session is about building connections and helping me understand how to move forward with your mental health objectives and goals. Having a detailed understanding of why you have come to therapy and what you want to work on, as we work together, provides the foundation to move ahead with your mental health goals.
