Many people struggle with feelings of anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns (among many other concerns) that affect our well-being and day to day. It's even more of a challenge if you are part of the Asian American community or other marginalized community groups. When you finally decide to get help, finding help from the right person can be hard because certain groups are underrepresented in my field.
My approach
I believe that there is no "one size fits all" approach to therapy, as each individual client and what they bring to the table is unique. Some of the treatment modalities and interventions I include are Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals and couples. I specialize in areas including ADHD, adolescents/teens, alcohol use, aging, Alzheimer's, anxiety, autism or Asperger's syndrome, behavioral issues, career counseling, children, chronic illness, chronic pain, codependency, coping skills, cultural stress, depression, developmental disorders, divorce, family conflict, grief, infertility, intellectual disability, job stress, learning disabilities, life coaching, life transitions, parenting, relationship issues, school issues, self esteem, sleep or insomnia, spirituality, stress, substance use, suicidal ideation, women's issues, pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum, older adults, and marital/pre-marital issues.
My communication style
I listen with empathy and without judgment, aiming to create a safe space for open dialogue. My communication style is warm yet direct. I tailor my approach to your unique needs, drawing upon evidence-based techniques to support your well-being and goals. Collaboration is key - we'll work together to find solutions that resonate with you.
My journey to mental healthcare
I can relate to the challenges of finding the right therapist, because I experienced similar difficulties when I was searching for help myself. I know that my experience is not unique, as I have clients who have had similar experiences. This motivated me to enter the mental healthcare field, so I could help others facing these struggles.
My goals for you
I would be honored to be part of your healing journey if you believe we are a good fit. No matter what your concern is, and no matter the reason for seeking help, my goal is to provide you with the individualized support and evidence-based techniques to help you improve your well-being and daily life.
