Hello! I’ve been providing therapy services since 2014. I’m skilled in treating a variety of issues including ADHD, depression, trauma, generalized anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, panic, impulsivity, substance use, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, schizophrenia, bipolar and personality disorders.
My approach
I work with my clients on figuring out the underlying causes of their symptoms. We also work on new healthy self-concept development and identifying and practicing your own unique set of coping skills that you can practice outside of the session. In my work, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral, Client-Centered, Cognitive Processing, and Solution Focused therapy approaches the most but I do also draw from a variety of tools based on somatic/energy psychology, such as EMDR and tapping/ EFT.
My focus
I can help you with issues such as perfectionism and toxic productivity, stress, life transitions, parenting issues, divorce, relationships, issues at school/work, and self-esteem. I help my clients navigate challenging relationships and issues of codependency, abuse, narcissistic personality, and neglect and abandonment in family systems.
My communication style
My therapeutic style is warm, friendly, and validating. I approach my clients with a sense of compassion, empathy, and understanding, and I create a safe and comfortable space where my clients feel accepted and heard.
My journey to mental healthcare
I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University. My passion for mental health and desire to help others have driven me to pursue this important work.
My goals for you
I set goals with my clients collaboratively. I work together with my clients to specific goals that align with their needs and expectations.
My first session with you
During our initial session, I might ask you about your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. I may also ask you questions about their personal background, medical history, relationships, and any mental health symptoms you may be experiencing. I may also may explain my therapeutic approach and what clients may expect from the therapeutic process.
