My name is Whitney Allen and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor based in Kentucky. As a therapists I hope to help my clients work through their anxiety, trauma, or any other concerns so they can become the best versions of themselves.
My approach
My approach to therapy is person centered. I believe everyone is unique and individual so I adapt my therapy approach to each client.
My focus
I work with adolescents and adults and specialize in treating addiction, anxiety, and trauma. I also have a background in working with the LGBTQIA+ community to assist these clients with specific needs.
My communication style
My communication style is very calm and relaxed. I also pride myself on provide a safe and affirming environment for all clients.
My journey to mental healthcare
I decided to become a therapist because I have always been drawn to helping people. I also saw a need for more mental health services in my community and wanted to contribute to the health and wellness of those around me. The biggest reward as a therapist is seeing people become the best versions of themselves.
My goals for you
I approach goal setting by helping clients identify things they would like to accomplish and how therapy can help them reach these goals.
My first session with you
During the first session we will spend time discussing how you are feeling. You can also expect some questions to get background information and better understanding of your specific situation. The first session is about us building an initial therapeutic relationship and ensuring you are comfortable moving forward with therapy.
