My name is Tammy Patrick. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with over 8 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in schools, residential and community services for children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and families. I use CBT along with an eclectic variety of techniques to meet the individual needs of each client.
My approach
For the last 8 years it has been my privilege to assist people in their journey of self-exploration. In a safe, comfortable and friendly environment, I gently guide my clients to heal the emotional and behavioral patterns that are creating hardship in their lives. In addition, I believe strongly in a holistic approach and assist my clients to achieve personal balance which leads to less stress and healthier relationships.
My focus
Counseling is designed to help you gain greater insight into your life and help you build awareness, compassion, understanding, respect, empathy, and acceptance toward yourself and others. Working together, we will identify the issues and/or triggers you may be experiencing and how to overcome, work through, and move forward from those stumbling blocks. I will work with you to find the best solutions for long term change. I work with children, adolescents, and adults through individual and family sessions.
My communication style
I provide unconditional positive regard, a safe environment and nonjudgmental active listening to foster the therapeutic relationship. I am authentic with my clients and create a welcoming environment for all people. I strive to provide nonjudgmental feedback to help support you in reaching your goals. I will work to ensure you feel seen and heard.
My goals for you
I will work with the client to identify areas in their life that they might want to look at differently, areas they may want to experience growth or situations they may want to remove themselves from. Together, we will work through actionable steps to accomplish the client's goals for therapy.
My first session with you
I will be there to support and encourage you along the way. Treatment is based on goals that we identify collaboratively, and the therapy process is always guided directly by you. My overall goal is to support you in overcoming challenges and creating a life that you value and desire.
