Hi! I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress management for children, teens, and adults. I like to utilize a creative approach to therapy to help tailor it to you as an individual.
My approach
I view myself as an eclectic counselor, as I like to pull from various theories to best fit your needs. I primarily utilize cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, expressive art therapy, and solution-focused therapy.
My focus
I am willing to see individuals, couples, families, and minors aged 13-17. My specialties include adolescents/teens, anxiety, behavioral issues, career counseling, autism or Asperger's syndrome, coping skills, depression, ADHD, family conflict, grief, life transitions, life coaching, mood disorders, oppositional defiance, older adults, panic attacks, parenting, peer relationships, pregnancy/prenatal/postpartum issues, racial identity, relationship issues, school issues, self esteem, sleep or insomnia, stress, trauma and PTSD, and women's issues.
My communication style
I aim to be culturally sensitive in my approach. Some of the modalities I employ include cognitive behavioral (CBT), eclectic, expressive arts, mindfulness-based, motivational interviewing, narrative, person-centered, play therapy, positive psychology, reality therapy, solution focused, strength-based, and trauma focused.
My journey to mental healthcare
I chose to become a counselor because I love to witness the growth that others achieve. I have a passion for healing, and counseling allows me to be a part of others' healing journeys almost every day. I earned my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I completed my clinical hours for licensure at Inner Healing Solutions in Shelby, NC from March 2018 to July 2021, GVSA in Charlotte, NC from January 2021 to June 2021, Gaston County DSS in Gastonia, NC from January 2020 to August 2020, and Support Inc. in Dallas, NC from April 2019 to November 2019.
