Mrs. Tanielle L.A. Brown, LCMHCS, NCC, BC-TMH, RRT's clinical practice as a psychotherapist has been to serve the Triad and surrounding areas with an eclectic approach to therapy. Mrs. Brown has been working with the mental health population for 20+ years, and she has seen a great need for skill-based interventions to treat people who endure several changes with the mental health reform (i.e., changes with providers and criteria for services). She offers a continuity of commitment to provide therapy.
My approach
Her style of therapy uses techniques drawn from several different schools of thought, which is Eclectic Therapy. It is a more flexible approach that allows her to adapt to each client's individual needs. Mrs. Brown recently adapted Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Another evidence-based modality is Seeking Safety, which helps people who experience trauma and addiction to a substance free themselves from negative behaviors and move toward healing from trauma at an emotional level. She uses Exposure Therapy for people diagnosed with PTSD by exposing them to traumatic memories and triggers. Another therapy she uses is Motivational Enhancement to engage the client and retain them in treatment.
My focus
Mrs. Brown's clinical philosophy is to treat her clients with "compassion" beyond the scheduled weekly sessions by providing "skill coaching" to keep the clients motivated in treatment.
My communication style
In addition, she believes clients are seeking someone to build trust "with" and a safe place to "learn" ways to move forward and past the trauma or crossroads in their lives. Mrs. Brown is a certified life coach. Coaching is a powerful interactive process that helps individuals to develop personally and professionally more rapidly and produce more satisfying and fulfilling results. Mrs. Brown often attends weekly sessions to work on areas in the client's life that include personal development, business, career, finances, health, and relationships.
