Hi, my name is Samantha Kleinman and I have been a clinical social worker for more than 25 years. I have a dynamic and eclectic approach to therapy. It is important to be able to utilize multiple areas of practice to appropriately meet a client's needs. My specialties include Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and short-term solution-focused therapy.
My approach
My therapeutic approach is person-centered therapy. The most common therapeutic techniques I implement are cognitive behavioral therapy along with motivational interviewing.
My focus
My clinical experience has primarily focused on Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Mood Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, and ADHD.
My communication style
The environment I try to implement is one of dynamic participation, supportive feedback, and active listening.
My journey to mental healthcare
I was attracted to the field of social work because of my lifelong interest in helping others. My passion for providing supportive clinical services in a non-judgmental space is what drives me to do this work.
My goals for you
Goal setting needs to meet the client where they are. I believe this is essential in order to establish rapport and buy-in for goal development. If the client doesn't believe or support the goal, there is little chance of success. Goals should be practical and achievable.
My first session with you
Clients should expect a basic exploration of current needs and goals. Future sessions would explore goal development and coping skills.
