Tammy Harmon-Rodriguez, LPCC-S, LSW I am Tammy, a professional clinical counselor - licensed in Ohio with over 20+ years of experience working in the mental health and addictions field. I started my private practice, Hearts To Minds, about a year ago as it has been a long dream to inspire others and create a safe place for those who want to come along on a positive journey. I like helping people that like helping themselves and knowing their worth. I became a counselor for many reasons, and one of those is the profound early loss of my mother. I learned along the way that anything is possible and to persevere through it all, as hope comes a long way! I have three beautiful children who have seen me work hours on end to help others reach all their true potential, like me. I had to dig deep inside and love myself! I have worked with clients that have a wide range of concerns: depression, anxiety, relationship issues, gender, addictions, family systems, bipolar disorder, psychosis, crisis, career challenges, OCD, and ADHD. I have a special place in my heart for those who have experienced trauma, addiction, and gender issues. My therapy style is warm, humorous, gentle, kind, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels and getting to the core of the issue.
My approach
My therapeutic approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and psychodynamic while teaching you some basic DBT skills. Tammy obtained her Trauma-Focused CBT and Motivational training through the State of Ohio. Tammy started her career as an MH Social Worker in 2002, working with dually diagnosed adults/children, which inspired and sparked her interest in the specialization of the dually diagnosed & family systems with evidence-based and cognitive-based treatments.
My focus
I have worked with clients that have a wide range of concerns: depression, anxiety, marriage & relationship issues, gender, addictions, family systems, bipolar disorder, psychosis, crisis, career challenges, OCD, and ADHD; however, this is not exclusive. My communication style
